First of all, I always forget how much A Separate Peace is one of my favourite books. So when I saw josephinestone was doing a fic for this fandom over on smallfandombang I couldn't pass up the opportunity. I really love the fic that came out of this, which you can find here and I'm so glad I got to make this mix. I challenged myself to make a mix that sounded like it came out of the early 1940s to match the setting, and with some artistic license in terms of period (as well as several vintage arrangements of 21st-century hits) I think it worked out. Also, you'll notice I drew the cover art as well; usually I do digital covers but I felt inspired to draw the boys being angsty so that happened. Hope you like it!

I love the beach scene with Gene watching Finny in the ocean. I only know a few of these songs but I'm downloading it to listen to now. When I was a kid my great uncle had a music box type thing that played the Bugle song (as I called it) and we used to dance to it.

I love all of this. So soft and lovely, and the vintage color palette... mmm. Also, the song choices are great - I was super pumped to discover Postmodern Jukebox, so thank you for introducing me to them!
